We are social beings. We are all lonely at times and we also have the companionship that others need. Sometimes, when you are feeling most down and alone, the most powerful thing you can do for yourself and for someone else is to make yourself available for others in pain. When I was struggling with being a single parent, I reached out to others. When I experienced depression after that, I began telephone counselling – being there for others in pain helped me in ways that I cannot express.

Maybe someone needs you? If you reach out, you might not be saving only them, but yourself as well.
